Archaeology studies history of civilisations. It includes study of historical architecture, theories, biofacts, landscapes or other remains of past. It is multidisciplinary science and uses history, anthropology, geology, literature, etc. It also includes preliminary fieldwork, excavation of sites and periodical classification of findings, observation, analysing, learning new techniques and so on.
Archaeologists do teaching or research work or work as curators with museums, surveyors, historians, heritage conservators, archivists with historical departments.
Archaeology has many sub-disciplines and specialisations.
